Originally built in 1536 and steeped in history, the Mercury Barony Castle Hotel & Spa is an imposing tower house located in the tranquil village of Eddleston on the outskirts of the Scottish Borders. It is set amongst 25 acres of lush gardens and mature woodland in the Peeblesshire countryside, and offers a peaceful and quiet retreat for relaxing or as a base for exploring the local area.
With its beautiful setting and modern décor, Barony Castle is a popular choice with couples who want to tie the knot in lush surroundings. Wedding parties can hold their marriage or civil ceremony at the hotel's 16th century stone alter, or exchange their vows in one of the recently renovated function rooms.
While the renovation works were being carried out, we were commissioned to supply and install a selection of fibre optic chandeliers from our Corona range, throughout the hotel. Working in partnership with our sister company Unlimited Light, we installed our circular fibre optic chandelier in the alcove at the front of the Elibank Suite. The chandelier not only creates a beautiful backdrop for wedding parties to say 'I do' in-front of their family and friends, but also adds a touch of luxury to the well-dressed room.
Our large wave-effect chandelier, which spans 2200mm in diameter and has a drop of 325mm, was installed in the hotel's main bar area, whilst our elliptical chandelier, which is slightly narrower, adds an element of fun to one of the bedroom suites.
Each of the chandeliers is powered by our MicroLED light sources and features full colour changing functionality. A remote control has been supplied with the light source for the bedroom to give guests the option of selecting their own colour cycle.
